Hello, my name is Lisa Dunlap and I have loved photography for more then twenty years.  After receiving a camera for my 19th birthday, I began taking photos of my surroundings.  I photographed everything that I could, taking classes along the way to increase my knowledge.  I knelt before flowers, trees, barns, rivers and the frozen landscape of an early April storm.  Being in nature with my camera became a meditation for me - a way to connect with a higher source.  When looking through my camera lens at a beautiful landscape, I could see God's glory looking back at me.  Over time, I realized that my mission was to see and to record the divine beauty of this world as if seeing through God's eye.

  Then my nieces and nephews began arriving into this world.  As I focused my camera on them, and then on my pregnant sisters, friends and, eventually, my clients, that precious connection to Spirit came through once again.  Soon after, Sacred Portraits was officially born.  To me, there is nothing more awe inspiring and sacred than beholding the miracle of life: a newborn baby, a pregnant woman, a father gently holding his son.  I am blessed and honored to be allowed to witness and to capture this through the lens of my camera.  It is my great joy to share this time with the families that I photograph.  I am grateful for their trust and inspired by the love that they have for their children.

  Six years later, Sacred Portraits is thriving and I am meeting wonderful families every day.  I am blessed to be able work from my home studio, which allows me to provide a safe and comfortable environment for my clients.  Not to mention, the benefits of being more available for my son (pictured here with me), my own sacred little one…
